5 Fun Things To Do This Weekend In Huntersville: Nov. 10 - 12

Sheepdog Trials and the Veterans Day parade are all among the fun things to do near Huntersville this weekend.

HUNTERSVILLE, NC -- If you’re looking for something fun this weekend, Patch has you covered.

Rain is expected to move on from the Charlotte-metro region by the start of the Veterans Day holiday weekend, but chilly temperatures will remain, according to the National Weather Service. Thursday’s rain and gloomy skies are expected to clear out by Friday, which is expected to be sunny. Temperatures will continue to dip, with an expected low of 31 degrees Friday night and 33 degrees Saturday. Highs over the weekend, which is expected to stay clear, will hover in the high 40s and low 50s.

  • Southern Christmas Show -- Get a jump start on getting in the Christmas spirit with this beloved annual tradition. This year marks its 50th anniversary. The Park Expo & Conference Center, Charlotte. Nov. 9-19.
  • 2017 Sheep Dog Trials and Rural Hill Dog Festival -- Grab your pooch and head out to the annual dog festival featuring the Border Collie Handlers’ Association, Carolina Dock Dogs, dog sports demonstrations and more. Historic Rural Hill, 4431 Neck Road, Huntersville. Saturday - Sunday, Nov. 11-12.
  • Huntersville has a day of activities planned to commemorate Veterans Day on Saturday, Nov. 11, beginning with a free breakfast for veterans at the Huntersville Presbyterian Church from 7 a.m. - 8 a.m. The Huntersville Veterans Day Parade will begin around 9:45 a.m. in downtown, with a ceremony to follow at 11 a.m. More information about Huntersville Veterans Day events may be found here.
  • Folk Life Festival At Historic Latta Plantation -- Start your holiday shopping while celebrating folk life and culture. This event features a vendor village of local artisans, folk music and hisorians. Historic Latta Plantation, 5225 Sample Road, Huntersville.
  • It’s not too early to get your photos with Santa, who has set up shop in the Center Court of SouthPark Mall. You can check out Kris Kringles schedule here.
