5 Things To Do In Huntersville This Weekend

Rain may be in the President's Day weekend forecast but there are still plenty of fun and things to do in the Queen City this weekend.

HUNTERSVILLE, NC — President’s Day is Monday, which means this weekend will be one of big sales from shopping malls to car dealerships. If spending your weekend shopping isn’t really you’re bag, Patch has you covered.

It could be a soggy long weekend in the Queen City region, according to the National Weather Service. Rain moves into the regional forecast Friday afternoon, with a chance of rain every day in the forecast though President's Day.

Saturday, Feb. 17, Historic Latta Plantation, 5225 Sample Road, Huntersville

Say event organizers: “Historic Latta Plantation is transformed into the European countryside circa 1940's. World War Two Reenactors from across the Carolina's will be on site to display uniforms, weaponry, gear and more. Demonstrations and camp-life will be on display throughout the day as spectators take-in history-in-action! The Latta grounds will be open throughout the day focusing on the life and times of World War Two. The Latta home will be open for a self-guided tour, visitors will be able to see farm animals, the exhibit hall and all of the days activities are accessible with admission. Admission: $9 Adults, $8 Seniors/Students, Children 5 & Under FREE, Veteran Discounts.

Saturday, Feb. 17, 7 p.m. - 10 p.m., Old Town Public House, 21314 Catawba Ave., Cornelius

Say event organizers: “Kicking off this Saturday and continuing through the month of February (while supplies last) Old Town Public House is offering a special treat flight that includes 4 beers and 8 scrumptious girl scout cookies for just $15. Let our craft beverage specialists do all the thinking for you, we will pour you a flight of beers that are deliciously paired with some of the Girl Scout cookie best sellers including: Thin Mints, Lemonades, Carmel deLites and S'mores.”

Saturday, Feb. 17, The Brickhouse Tavern, 209 Delburg Street, Davidson

We will start our tour at the Old Cotton Mill now known as The Brick House Tavern found at 209 Delburg St. From there we will wind our way through historical Davidson down Main St, stopping at 5-6 different restaurants from upscale dining to the soda shop along the way. We will sample some of the finest culinary delights these establishments have to offer. At one of the stops enjoy a local beer or wine tasting. You will get to meet the owners and chefs for a very personal experience unlike any other.
