Charges For Teen Who Killed Woman, Dogs In Head-On Crash

HUNTERSVILLE, NC — A Huntersville teen was arrested and charged the death of a woman and serious injury of two others after the vehicle he was driving crossed a center line and hit a Jeep Patriot head on, according to reports.

The Dec. 30 crash on McCoy Road in Huntersville required five people to be extracted by emergency responders, and killed two family pets, according to Huntersville Fire Department.

On Jan. 10, Jonathan Bales, 16 was charged with involuntary manslaughter for the death of Lisa May Overfield, who was driving the Jeep, the Charlotte Observer reported. Also in the vehicle were Michael Croxton and a small child, who were both seriously injured in the crash.

Bales was also charged with two counts of assault with a deadly weapon causing serious injury.

Angelica Toledo, who was a passenger in Bales’ Honda Accord, was also injured, the newspaper reported.
