Charlotte-Mecklenburg Emergency Management Seeks Public Input - See Survey Link
Duke Energy and officials from Mecklenburg, Iredell, Gaston, Catawba, and Lincoln counties need your help to update local emergency management strategies, specifically evacuation time estimates (ETE) for the ten-mile emergency planning zone (EPZ) around McGuire Nuclear Station.

Evacuation time study results are provided to the states and counties around Duke Energy nuclear stations for use in developing detailed evacuation plans as part of the county’s all hazards emergency plans.
These evacuation studies are highly comprehensive and include a detailed analysis, which considers weather, numerous assumptions based on population, number of traffic patterns, changes in season, specific features of communities surrounding the plant, etc. There is not a "one-size fits all" approach to these studies.
