Early Morning Traffic Stop Leads To Drug Arrest In Huntersville
An alcohol smell in the car prompted a search, which turned up cocaine, Adderall, marijuana and a digital scale.

HUNTERSVILLE, NC — A 27-year-old man is behind bars Tuesday after an early morning traffic stop that led to the discovery of cocaine, marijuana, unprescribed Adderall and digital scales, according to Huntersville Police.
Driver Michael Zitnik, 27, was pulled over by a Huntersville police officer around 1 a.m. June 12 on Statesville Road for a traffic violation. When the officer approached the car, however, they noticed a smell of alcohol and initiated a search of the vehicle.
During the search, HPD found 5 grams of cocaine, 30 grams of marijuana, 20 unprescribed Adderall pills in a plastic bag, a digital scale, small plastic baggies and open containers of alcohol.

Zitnik was arrested and charged with felony possession of a schedule II controlled substance, felony possession with intent to sell and distribute marijuana and misdemeanor possession of marijuana. He was also cited for possession marijuana paraphernalia and open container.
