HUNTERSVILLE, NC — Huntersville fire crews extracted a patient from a crash along Interstate 77, which snarled northbound traffic Friday morning.

The crash occurred around 8 a.m. on I-77 at Gilead Road/ Exit 23, according to Huntersville Fire.

Photos from the scene show a black pick-up truck straddling a concrete barrier under the roadway, as well as a sedan with significant rear driver-side damage.

“Our crews extricated one priority patient and they are with medic,” HFD said.
