Here's a rundown of what is closed on Thursday, July 4 in Huntersville and Mecklenburg County.
HUNTERSVILLE, NC — As families around the region celebrate Fourth of July with fireworks and cookouts, many services will take a holiday break. Patch has compiled a list of closings you can expect Thursday in Huntersville and Mecklenburg County.
Most all Mecklenburg County offices will be closed Thursday, July 4 in observance of Independence Day, although some facilities will remain open or have modified hours.
Expect the following government offices and businesses to be closed:

- All Federal offices and courts
- All state offices
- All Mecklenburg County offices
- All banks closed
- All post offices closed
Huntersville
- Town of Huntersville offices — closed July 4
- All libraries — closed Tuesday, July 4

Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS)
- On Thursday, July 4, all Charlotte Area Transit System bus routes, the LYNX Blue Line and the CityLYNX Gold Line Connector will operate on a Sunday schedule in observance of the Independence Day holiday.
- CATS Pass Sales & Information offices at the Charlotte Transportation Center and the CATS Call Center will be closed. The CATS Pass Sales & Information offices and CATS Call Center will resume their regular schedule on Friday, July 5.
- CATS and Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation are offering a free shuttle for riders visiting Ramsey Creek Beach. The service will run on July 4, July 6 and July 7. The shuttle will leave from the Cornelius Park and Ride, and will run every 15 minutes from 9:30 a.m. to 7:45 p.m.

Solid Waste Services
- Mecklenburg County Solid Waste administrative offices facilities and facilities will be closed on Thursday, July 4, 2019. The exception is Compost Central at 140 Valleydale Road. It will be open 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Mecklenburg County Health Department — closed July 4
Mecklenburg County Library System — closed July 4
Park and Recreation — administrative offices will be closed on Thursday, July 4, 2019.
Recreation and Senior Centers — closed
Mecklenburg County Nature Centers — open regular hours.
Ray’s Splash Planet — open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Mecklenburg County Aquatic Center will open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Cordelia Pool and Double Oaks Family Aquatic Center — open noon until 7 p.m.
Ramsey Creek Beach — open 10 a.m. until 7:30 p.m. Beach shuttle will operate July 4-7 from Cornelius Park and Ride lot, 20300 Sefton Park Road.
Marion Diehl Pool — closed for renovations
