HUNTERSVILLE, NC — Huntersville Police Department will be giving out free hot chocolate Saturday during its annual "Hot Chocolate with a Cop" social event at Kilwins in Birkdale Village.

The Feb. 8 event will run from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. at the candy store, located at 16926 Birkdale Commons Parkway, HPD said.

Here’s what the police department says about the event:
"Come by to say hello and warm up with FREE hot chocolate! Officers will be on hand with goodies for the kids along with an on-air personality and music from 96.9 The Kat! Expect to see K9 Officer Johnston, along with K9 Cirro, as well as our newest K9 duo, K9 Officer Ferrell and his partner K9 Igor!"
