HPD Makes Arrest After Stolen Car Found In Walmart Parking Lot
Huntersville police say they also nabbed one of two suspects wanted in multiple vehicle break-ins on Traviston Street.
HUNTERSVILLE, NC — Huntersville police arrested one of two suspects they say were behind multiple vehicle break-ins on Traviston Street Tuesday. In a separate incident, officers also made an arrest after a stolen vehicle was found in the Walmart parking lot.
HPD officers responded to the 1500 block of Traviston Street shortly after 6 p.m. Feb. 5 after receiving a call about a vehicle break-in.
“The victim stated that the suspect broke into his vehicle. The victim stated that he did not authorize anyone to break into his vehicle,” HPD said of the case, adding that officers continue to search for a second suspect.

Hakeeh Ha, 17, was charged with felony break or enter of a motor vehicle, misdemeanor larceny, and order for arrest for possession of marijuana up to ½ ounce.
“Please remember to lock your vehicles and remove any valuable items,” HPD said Wednesday. “Vehicles entered in area of Traviston St. were unlocked.”
Also on Feb. 5, officers patrolling Walmart located a stolen vehicle, which led to the arrest of Starria Askew, 34. According to HPD, she was charged with possession of a stolen motor vehicle, obtaining property by false pretense uttering forged instrument, possession/manufacture of fraudulent ID, identity theft, possession of 5+ counterfeit instrument, possession of marijuana up to ½ ounce.
