Huntersville Man Charged With Threatening School Shooting

Huntersville Police have arrested Michael Wallace Buck, who they say threatened to carry a school shooting .

HUNTERSVILLE, NC — Huntersville police arrested and charged a man Thursday they say threatened to carry out a school shooting Feb. 16, just two days after the Parkland, Florida shooting that left 17 dead.

“The Huntersville Police Department takes all threats toward our citizens seriously and initiated an investigation,” the department said in a statement.

According to an HPD report, the department received a call Feb. 16 that Buck was threatening to carry out a school shooting. Officers located Buck and, following an interview, obtained warrants for his arrest.

Buck, 27, was charged March 8 with making a false report concerning mass violence at an educational facility.

He was transported to the Mecklenburg County Jail and his bond has been set at $1 million.
