Huntersville Weather Forecast: How Many More Storms?

The Charlotte metro area has seen its share of showers and thunderstorms lately. See if this week will bring any relief.

HUNTERSVILLE, NC — If you're checking in to find out when thunderstorms will stop pummeling the Charlotte metro region, you might want to sit down before reading the rest of this article.

Here's your work-week weather forecast in a nutshell: If you look outside and there is not a thunderstorm, there is probably going to be a thunderstorm the next time you check. That's right, the soggy days we've been getting aren't going away any time soon.

The National Weather Service issued a hazardous weather advisory Monday morning warning that, once again, thunderstorms in the piedmont of North Carolina are likely to bring gusty winds, lightning and locally heavy rainfall.

“Severe thunderstorms are not expected, but brief heavy rain with localized flash flooding, small hail, and lightning will be possible,” NWS said. “Gusty winds from thunderstorms could blow down a few trees due to saturated soils.”

The chance of rain will bounce back and forth between 30-60 percent every day this week.
