Jamboree: High School Bands To Battle In Huntersville Saturday

Four area high school marching bands are squaring off in a battle Saturday in Huntersville. Here's what you need to know.

HUNTERSVILLE, NC — Four Lake Norman area high school bands will be battling for bragging rights Saturday in Huntersville in the inaugural Jamboree at Hopewell High School Stadium.

The May 5 event runs 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and promises to be the largest area marching band event this spring, say organizers.

  • Mallard Creek Marching Mavericks
  • Vance Royal Sound of the South
  • West Charlotte Marching Lions
  • Hopewell Titanium Sound Band

Advance tickets can be purchased through each band. Students $5, Adults $10. Tickets at the gate are $10.

“Doors open at noon, so come early and grab a BBQ plate, Fish plate, fried candy bars and more,” say organizers.
