Man Wanted On String Of Felonies Nabbed In Huntersville
Huntersville police arrested Dalton Mashburn, and charged him with possession of a stolen car and gun, as well as multiple parole violations

HUNTERSVILLE, NC — A wanted felon from Lincoln County is behind bars after a tip that he was in the area led Huntersville Police right to him Tuesday, HPD said Wednesday.
Dalton Shane Mashburn, who was wanted by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, was arrested by Huntersville officers April 3 outside an apartment on Merry Chase Lane. He had outstanding warrants for three felony probation violations, a felony warrant for removing his electronic monitoring device, as well as believed to be in possession of a stolen vehicle and gun.
Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office’s had received a tip Mashburn was at that location, and passed it on to HPD.

When Huntersville officers arrived at the apartment, however, Mashburn was not in the apartment. “Officers left the area and monitored the surrounding streets for the suspect vehicle,” HPD said in a statement. “A short time later officers observed a dark-colored Chevrolet Trailblazer, which was later confirmed to be stolen, enter the apartment complex.” He was then arrested without incident.
In addition to the outstanding warrants for parole violation and removing the electronic monitoring device, Mashburn was also charged with carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a stolen firearm, possession of a stolen vehicle, and possession of a firearm by a felon.
