Pair Charged After Armed Home Invasion In Huntersville

HUNTERSVILLE, NC -- Huntersville Police have arrested a Mooresville man and a Charlotte woman accused of a violent armed robbery at The Landings apartment complex Tuesday that left a female victim injured after she was kicked in the head and face.

Jamiel Micah Blackwell, 21 and of Mooresville, and Serbraun Marie Thompson, 18 and of Charlotte, were apprehended by Huntersville officers shortly after the Feb. 13 incident on Landings Drive. HPD continues to search for three other suspects.

According to HPD, the pair covered their faces with bandanas and were armed with handguns when they entered an apartment and assaulted and robbed its occupants. A third suspect, who has not been named by police, was armed with an expandable baton.

During the incident, a female victim was struck multiple times with the baton, punched and kicked in the face and head area, and later transported to the hospital for treatment,” HPD said in a statement Wednesday. A male victim in the apartment was robbed of cash and personal property before the trio bolted from the scene on foot.

Officers canvassing the area spotted Blackwell and Thompson, who were then positively identified by one of the victims in the apartment.

Blackwell and Thompson have both been charged with breaking and entering, robbery with a dangerous weapon, conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon and assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury.
