Photos: Fire In Downtown Huntersville Affects 3 Businesses
A fire that spread through the attic affected three businesses in downtown Huntersville Tuesday evening.
HUNTERSVILLE, NC — An overnight fire in downtown Huntersville that affected three business spread through the attic space, according to fire officials.
Firefighters responded to the blaze at 101 Old Statesville Road, just down the street from the firestation, around 8:30 p.m. to flames shooting out of the rooftop of the block of businesses on Old Statesville Road at Gilead Road.
Traffic in the normally busy intersection was brought to a halt and Old Statesville Road was shut down in both directions as fire crews from Huntersville stations 1 and 3, as well as Cornelius responded to the scene.

“Heavy fire through the roof, all hands working,” Huntersville Fire said.
Fire officials believe the blaze began in the attic of one of the businesses, WBTV reported. No one was injured in the incident, it said.

The flames did not reach Slice House Pizza, restaurant management said on its Facebook page late Tuesday night. “No flames inside our space. Lil smoky. But we’re definitely lucky tonight,” they said.
