Rain Headed To Huntersville: Here’s When You’ll Need The Umbrella

Heavy rain moving into the region could cause localized flooding, according to the National Weather Service.

HUNTERVILLE, NC — The new year will be off to a soggy start Wednesday evening, when showers are expected to move into the region and stick around through Friday, possibly leading to flooding in some areas, the National Weather Service said Wednesday.

Rain is a near certainty Wednesday evening, likely beginning before 11 p.m., NWS said. Patchy fog is also expected overnight into Thursday morning, it said.

“With soils still soggy in many areas from the recent rainfall, these upcoming rain events may result in more flooding late this week. Flooding is especially likely along rivers that remain at elevated stages,” NWS said in a hazardous weather bulletin Wednesday morning.
