Rain Moving Into Huntersville Area: Weekend Forecast

Rain will stick around until Thursday evening, when clear and sunny skies emerge just in time for the weekend. Here's what you can expect.

HUNTERSVILLE, NC — Rain is settling into the Lake Norman and Charlotte-metro region Wednesday afternoon, but will clear out to make way for a sunny weekend filled with crisp spring-like temperatures.

Conditions turned soggy Wednesday, with rain remaining in the forecast until Thursday, when storms could become heavy and produce wind gusts up to 23 miles per hour, according to the National Weather Service.

Skies will clear by Friday, which is expected to high of 60 degrees, and segway into a weekend filled with sunny and clear conditions with highs in the mid 50s.

Rain before 10pm, then showers after 10pm. Patchy fog after 8pm. Low around 52. Light and variable wind. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New precipitation amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.
Thursday ( March 1)
Rain and possibly a thunderstorm before 2pm, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm between 2pm and 4pm, then a chance of showers after 4pm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. Patchy fog before 10am. High near 68. Light and variable wind becoming south southwest 11 to 16 mph in the morning. Winds could gust as high as 23 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.
Thursday Night
A 30 percent chance of showers, mainly before 7pm. The rain could be heavy at times. Cloudy during the early evening, then gradual clearing, with a low around 42. West northwest wind 14 to 17 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

Sunny, with a high near 60. Breezy, with a northwest wind 13 to 21 mph, with gusts as high as 31 mph.
