Rain Settles Into Huntersville With More To Come By Weekend

More than an inch of rain is expected in the Charlotte-metro region, as state emergency officials warn of possible flash flooding risk.

HUNTERSVILLE, NC -- It’s a soggy, wet Wednesday throughout North Carolina as state emergency officials warn of possible isolated flash flooding in southwestern parts of the state. Conditions aren’t likely to dry out, as there’s a chance of rain expected all weekend, according to forecasters.

Wednesday’s all-day soaking is expected to dump more than an inch of rain in the Charlotte-metro region, according to NC Emergency Management. The steady showers are expected to hang around until later Feb. 7, when they move out for a brief reprieve Thursday, leaving behind partly sunny skies for a day.

That forecast will be short-lived, however, as rain creeps back into the forecast by Friday, when there’s a 70 percent chance of rain. Those showers are expected to stick around through early next week, the National Weather Service said in its Feb. 7 forecast.
