Rain, Then Sunny Skies: Huntersville Weekend Forecast

Rain is in the forecast Thursday but won't stay around for long. Here's what you can expect for Mother's Day weekend.

HUNTERSVILLE, NC — It’s going to be a gorgeous weekend in the Queen City region, but first there will be some rain, according to a National Weather Service forecast.

The threat of rain moves into the region late Thursday, which will see a high around 86 degrees. The front will bring a chance of showers and thunderstorms before midnight, but rain amounts likely won’t be more than a tenth of an inch, NWS said.

By Friday, sunny skies and summer temperatures return through the weekend. Highs this week will top out on Sunday at around 92.

Mostly clear, with a low around 62. South wind 3 to 5 mph.

A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 5pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 86. Southwest wind 7 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

A chance of showers and thunderstorms before midnight, then a slight chance of showers between midnight and 1am. Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly clear, with a low around 64. West southwest wind 5 to 7 mph becoming calm after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
