Rainy Week Ahead For Huntersville

HUNTERSVILLE, NC -- Columbus Day kicked off a week of weather calling for warm, wet conditions with a forecast calling for a chance of showers every day through the weekend.

Scattered thunderstorms on Monday could produce locally heavy rainfall and isolated cloud to ground lightning strikes, the National Weather Service said in a hazardous weather outlook Oct. 9.

The highs this week will top out around 84 degrees on Tuesday, Oct. 10, tapering to the mid 70s by Friday. The lows this week will be in the 70s and high 60s. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a high near 84. South southwest wind 3 to 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
