Scots Set To Invade Huntersville For Loch Norman Highland Games
Lake Norman will look like a scene out of Outlander this weekend during annual festival that brings thousands to the area.

HUNTERSVILLE, NC -- The Scottish will be invading Lake Norman this weekend, but do not be alarmed lass. The incursion of kilts and pipe bands is all part of the annual “Loch Norman Highland Games” set to take place this weekend in Huntersville.
The festival is one of the premier signature annual events in the Lake Norman region, and draws about 16,000 attendees, said Travis Dancy, director of sales for Visit Lake Norman. On average, the event fills more than 500 hotel rooms in the area, he said.
World ranked professional heavy athletes will be on hand at the festival for events that largely involve throwing really heavy objects while wearing a kilt. In addition to feats of strength, festival food and dancing are planned throughout the weekend.
