Soggy Start To Huntersville Holiday Travel: Christmas Forecast
Rain moves into the Charlotte-metro region Wednesday and lingers in the forecast going into the holiday weekend.

HUNTERSVILLE, NC -- There’s no chance for a white Christmas this year in the Charlotte-metro region, but instead a soggy one. Rain moves into the Charlotte-metro region early Wednesday morning, with chances for it to linger in the forecast going into the holiday weekend, according to the National Weather Service.
The National Weather Service issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for the piedmont of North Carolina Dec. 20, saying the region would see continuous rainfall Wednesday. “High rainfall rates will be possible at times leading to storm total amounts of one to two inches before tapering off this evening,” it said.
While rain is in the forecast every day this weekend, there is a sliver of good news. Grey skies will clear out briefly and slick roads will have a chance to dry out Thursday, which is considered to be the peak travel day for holiday road travel. Thursday will be partly sunny with highs near 50, and lows around 41.
