Wintry Weather Expected In NC This Weekend: Huntersville Forecast

It's going to be cold and wet this weekend in North Carolina as a front brings wintry weather to the state. Here's what you need to know.

HUNTERSVILLE, NC — As a weather front promises to bring wintry weather to North Carolina this weekend, uncertainty remains regarding what it will mean for Huntersville and the greater Charlotte-metro region, according to National Weather Service forecasters.

One thing is certain, say forecasters: it’s going to be cold and wet, thanks to a low pressure system bringing rain to the region by Saturday morning. While temperatures are expected to be cold enough for the precipitation to fall as a wintry mix in the mountains and foothills of the state, uncertainty looms over what the weather front will bring to the piedmont of North Carolina, NWS said.

The Charlotte-metro and Lake Norman area will likely see only rain and periods of sleet by Saturday evening, forecasters said. “However, there is quite a bit of uncertainty with this system regarding timing, location of wintry precipitation, and precipitation amounts. Further developments will determine where and when a Winter Storm Watch might be issued.”
