• New Blumenthal Arts season: Broadway hits, classics + a star just in Charlotte (charlotteobserver.com) — Lake Lure gets a nod as the iconic 1986 filming location for “Dirty Dancing,” which helped turn the town into a lasting tourist draw. The new Blumenthal Arts Broadway season in Charlotte will feature a refreshed “Dirty Dancing: The Musical” alongside big-name shows like “Phantom of the Opera,” “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child,” and “Beauty and the Beast,” many running through 2027.
