• Jun 10 Lexington Teen Charged After Pursuit Ends in Crash, Power Outage (davidsonlocal.com) — A 19-year-old Lexington resident faces multiple charges after allegedly fleeing deputies and crashing on South NC Highway 150 near Michael Road, briefly knocking out power nearby. The June 6 incident led to damage to mailboxes and a utility pole, and the driver is being held without bond while the sheriff’s office continues its investigation and considers additional charges. 
• Newton's Smith Dominates at Phoenix Bass Fishing League Event at High Rock Lake (anglerschannel.com) — A regional bass tournament on High Rock Lake saw Newton angler Jacob Smith take first, but Lexington’s own Robert Walser earned a strong seventh-place finish with a five-bass haul. The event drew competitors from across the Carolinas and Virginia, with top anglers now chasing points toward regional and national championship berths later this year.
