• Missing 70-year-old Lincoln County man found dead in wooded area, police say (wbtv.com) — Lincolnton police are investigating after 70-year-old Tony Maddox, a Lincoln County resident reported missing last week, was found dead Tuesday afternoon in a wooded area. His car had earlier been discovered abandoned in south Charlotte, and authorities have not released a cause of death. Maddox was last reportedly seen in Lincolnton on Nelson Drive the day before his disappearance.
