ā¢ NC removes Mills River's unique freedom to reduce building density (blueridgenow.com) ā State lawmakers have stripped Mills River of its special authority to reduce building density, effectively nullifying the townās newly adopted unified development ordinance after two years of work and extensive public input. Local officials are split over who pushed for the rollback, and the town must now decide whether to rework or salvage parts of the plan while development pressure and concerns about rural character continue to grow.
