MOORESVILLE, NC -- Holiday shopping and partying is at the top of most lists this weekend. But if you’re looking for something to do in the Mooresville area this weekend, we’ve got a list of highlights for you. Horse-drawn wagon rides, a lake cruise with Santa and holiday lights are just some of the fun things going on around town this weekend.

Weatherwise, there will be sunshine aplenty in the forecast for Friday and Saturday, but the chance for rain increases by Sunday morning. Highs through the weekend will top out in the mid-50s, with lows staying in the low 30s. You can read more about the weekend forecast here.

  • Horse-Drawn Wagon Rides -- Christmas comes to Downtown Mooresville, with Santa visits, horse-drawn wagon rides, hot cocoa, and more. Wagons load and unload at Mooresville Christian Mission, 266 N. Broad Street. Friday, Dec. 15, 6 p.m. - 8 p.m.
  • Downtown’s Holiday Light Spectacular -- An orchestrated light show that includes over 115,000 lights set to music. Runs nightly through late December. Town Hall lawn, 413 N. Main Street, Mooresville.
  • Wreaths Across America For Veterans -- Wreaths will be laid at the graves of as many veterans as possible at Willow Valley Cemetery as part of Wreaths Across America Day. Saturday, Dec. 16. 10:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
  • Breakfast with Santa & Mrs. Claus -- Enjoy a pancake breakfast with biscuits, scrambled eggs and bacon at Kickback Jacks while also visiting with Santa. Children tickets are $5 each and adult tickets $7. Saturday, Dec. 16, 9 a.m. - 11 a.m.
  • Santa Brunch Cruise -- Enjoy a breakfast buffet, a Lake Norman Cruise and pictures with Santa. Lake of the Lake, 1459 River Highway, Mooresville. Sunday, Dec. 17, 12:30 p.m. - 2:30 p.m.
