Threats of looming storm clouds are finally moving out of the region, setting Mooresville up for a gorgeous spring weekend with near perfect conditions. Skies will clear up Friday, leading into a Saturday packed with sunshine and warm, spring temperatures. Saturday's high is expected to reach 77 degrees, however, Sunday will be a bit cooler with temperatures topping out in the high 60s.
The weekend is a precursor for more to come. Sunshine will be on deck every day next week, too.

- Mooresville Ghost Tours β In this hour-long tour youβll hear the spooky lore of a drowned town, lake monster, a haunted library and more. Tours leave the Charles Mack Citizen Center meeting point every hour on the hour from 6 p.m. - 10 p.m. Saturday and Sunday evenings. Reservations are required. 704-698-7286.
- Lakefront Hops Fest β More than 14 breweries, two bands ( Joystick Band and Little Johnny Trailer Trash), food vendors, a wine tent and more. LangTree Lake Norman, 401 Langtree Road, Mooresville. Saturday, April 28, 2 p.m. - 8 p.m.
- 8th Annual Timmy Belcher Memorial Rainbow Kidz Ride & Run β Saturday, April 28, 8 a.m. - 1 p.m. Say organizers, βThis event includes a 5K, 10K and 1 mile fun run and 10mi/35mi/60mi cycling routes for cycling enthusiasts. 5K and 10K are professionally timed on a fully supported route. All cycling events are timed for personal benchmark only. All routes begin and end at Western Ave Baptist Church in Statesville.β
- 6th Annual Iredell Garden Fair β Saturday, April 28, 9 a.m. - 2 p.m., Iredell County Cooperative Extension, 44 Bristol Drive, Statesville. Mark Weathington, who wrote βGardening In The South: The Complete Homeowners Guide,β will be on hand at 10 a.m.
