• Mooresville Fire-Rescue places new ladder truck into service (Photos) (iredellfreenews.com) — Mooresville Fire-Rescue has officially placed a newer Pierce Velocity ladder truck into service, replacing an aging 2014 model that was developing mechanical issues. Purchased used for $1 million, the truck significantly cuts costs and wait time for taxpayers and will ultimately operate from Mooresville's Station 7 at Mount Mourne, following a traditional wet-down and push-back ceremony.
   

• Highlights of North Iredell volleyball's key conference win over Mooresville (newsobserver.com) — Mooresville High's volleyball team dropped a four-set road match to unbeaten North Iredell in a key North Piedmont Conference showdown, snapping the Blue Devils' seven-game winning streak. Strong performances from several Mooresville players weren't enough this time, but the rivals will meet again on October 1 when North Iredell travels to Mooresville.
