Arbor Day 2019: Here’s How Mooresville Is Celebrating
Mooresville is celebrating Arbor Day, as well as its decade as a "Tree City USA" certification, on April 26. Here's what you need to know.
MOORESVILLE, NC — Mooresville is celebrating Arbor Day, as well as a decade certified as a Tree City on April 26, according to town officials.
Here’s what the Town of Mooresville says about the event:
"The Town of Mooresville will be commemorating its tenth "Tree City USA" certification on April 26 at 10 a.m., in conjunction with its planned Arbor Day Celebration.

"The North Carolina Forest Service will send a representative to present the certification, which recognizes the town for "maintaining a tree board or department, having a community tree ordinance, spending at least $2 per capita on urban forestry, and celebrating Arbor Day," according to the Arbor Day Foundation.
"Additionally, the Town’s Environmental Protection Commission will be donating two trees to plant at the site of the celebration, the Mooresville Public Library, located at 304 South Main Street. The public is invited to attend."
