Body Of Missing Swimmer Pulled From Lake Norman In Mooresville
According to reports, the man's life jacket came off when he jumped into the water from a boat near McKendree Road.
MOORESVILLE, NC — Searchers on Lake Norman recovered the body of a missing swimmer Sunday, one day after the 22-year-old man jumped into the water from a boat, according to reports.
The man was wearing a life jacket, however it came off when he jumped into the water, WSOC reported. Rescuers initially launched their search near Hager Creek boat landing and McKendree Road in Mooresville, the station said. His body was found shortly before noon Sept. 8.
According to North Carolina Wildlife Resource Commission, the area of the lake where the drowning occurred is about 14 feet deep, WSOC said.
