Charlotte Man Charged In Mooresville Bank Robbery Case: MPD

MOORESVILLE, NC — A Charlotte man already behind bars has been charged with a May bank robbery in Mooresville, according to police.

The charges stem from a May 6 heist that occurred shortly after 2 p.m. at the First Citizens Bank, located at 241 Medical Park Road in Mooresville. During the incident, the male suspect passed a note demanding cash to a bank teller. The man did not brandish a weapon, according to police.

At the time of the incident, witnesses gave police a description of the suspect and his vehicle. On Nov. 22, Mooresville Police Department identified Tyrus McGee, 20 and of Charlotte, the suspect wanted in the case.

“McGee was already incarcerated in the Mecklenburg County Jail on unrelated charges when he was charged with this incident,” MPD said Monday. “He received an additional $10,000 secured bond for this additional charge.”
