Cold Rain Expected Friday: Here's How Much Iredell Could See

Rain will push into the Carolinas by Friday, dumping as much as 1.5 inches of rain by Saturday, according to the National Weather Service.

MOORESVILLE, NC — Fall may have just officially begun but by Friday, it’s going to feel a lot more like winter. Rain and fog are expected throughout much of the state, with temperatures hovering in the 40s, according to the forecasters.

In the Lake Norman region, rain is expected to start before dawn Friday morning, with intermittent showers and wind gusts up to 20 miles per hour throughout the day. The high will be around 48 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.

Rain is expected throughout all of North Carolina, with some areas of the state, such as in northern Iredell County, receiving up to 1.5 inches of rain by Saturday, North Carolina Emergency Management said. Coastal areas of the state could see isolated severe thunderstorms.

Mostly cloudy, with a high near 57. East southeast wind around 5 mph.

Rain likely, mainly after 5am. Cloudy, with a low around 46. Light east wind. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
Friday (Oct. 26)
Rain. Patchy fog before noon, then patchy fog after 1pm. High near 47. Northeast wind 8 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New precipitation amounts between three quarters and one inch possible.
Friday Night
Rain, mainly before 11pm. Patchy fog before 7pm. Low around 44. North northeast wind 5 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
Saturday (Oct. 27)
A chance of rain before 3pm, then a slight chance of showers after 3pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 61. West wind 3 to 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

A 20 percent chance of showers before 1am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 46.
Sunday (Oct. 28)
Mostly sunny, with a high near 65.

A 40 percent chance of showers. Partly cloudy, with a low around 48.
