Coronavirus: Iredell Voters Urged To Use Online Options

Amid the spread of coronavirus, Iredell County Board of Elections is urging voters to use this option for registration or address changes.

IREDELL COUNTY, NC — As North Carolina continues to grapple with the new coronavirus outbreak, the Iredell County Board of Elections is urging voters to use online options for services such as voter registration, address changes or party changes, it said Tuesday.

"The health and safety of our voters is a top priority of the Iredell County Board of Elections office.," the election board said in a statement Tuesday. "To lessen the public health risks associated with the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19), we encourage voters to use our online options for new voter registration applications, name and address changes, and party changes."

Forms can be printed and mailed to the election board's office at 203 Stockton Street Statesville, NC 28677, or faxed to 704-832-2312.

Registration deadline for the Nov. 3, 2020 General election is Friday, October 9, 2020.

As of Tuesday morning, there were at least 40 reported cases of the COVID-19 virus in North Carolina, including one case in Iredell County, according to the NC Department of Health and Human Services.

An Iredell County resident became the county’s first “presumptive positive” for COVID-19 Monday, according to the Iredell County Health Department, who called it “an isolated case.”

“At this time, the individual is isolating at home and willingly cooperating with public health officials. Iredell County Health Department team members are monitoring the individual during their isolation and are identifying any close contacts to monitor symptoms and contain potential spread,” ICHD said in a statement.
