Coronavirus Update: 6 Dead, 104 Cases Reported In Iredell

At least six Iredell County residents have died from coronavirus-related illness, county health officials said Monday afternoon.

MOORESVILLE, NC — Novel coronavirus is now responsible for at least six deaths in Iredell County, according to health officials. The news comes as at least 104 cases of the new coronavirus, which causes COVID-19, have been confirmed in the county, Iredell County Health Department said Monday afternoon.

The tally is cumulative and includes at least 64 cases that are assumed recovered, according to county health data.

"Reporting the number of cases that appear to have recovered is a complicated process," ICHD said in a statement. "Some infected people will have mild symptoms and others find themselves with more severe symptoms. People have varying experiences on how the virus runs its course, making reporting the number of those who have appeared to have recovered a complicated process, adding, "Full-recovery' looks different for everyone and cannot truly be defined or measured at this time."
