ICYMI: What Kitchen Inspections Found At Denny’s, Sagebrush

MOORESVILLE, NC — Recent health inspections at five Mooresville area restaurant kitchens found numerous violations, from a walk-in freezer ceiling caving in to black growth in an ice machine.

All recently inspected restaurants in Mooresville kept their "A" health rating, however multiple violations were found.

A Feb. 18 inspection at Sagebrush found six violations,including a dirty can opener and “the majority of the metal pans (all sizes) on the clean dish shelves were soiled with residue & debris despite being stacked as clean,” the report said. Multiple areas in the kitchen were also in need of cleaning or repair.

A dozen violations were reported at Denny’s Restaurant during a Feb. 18 inspection. According to the report, the inspection found black residue in the ice machine, dented food cans, gravy held at the improper temperature that needed to be thrown away, metal containers were stacked wet, as well as equipment in need of repair and cleaning. “Observed the ceiling in the walk-in freezer is starting to cave in,” the report said.
