Deputies Find Crack, Marijuana After Tip Leads To Drug Bust: ICSO
A tip about possible drug sales led Iredell County Sheriff's Office investogators to a cache of marijuana and crack cocaine.
STATESVILLE, NC — A tip to authorities about possible drug sales in an Iredell County residential neighborhood led to a drug bust that netted marijuana with a street value of nearly $2,000 and crack cocaine worth about $640 and two arrests, according to the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office.
According to ICSO, investigators received information about the alleged drug activity at a home located at 439 Reynolda Drive in Statesville, and collected evidence through surveillance and undercover drug buys.
Undercover detectives identified suspect Gilbert Millsaps as a main seller, who they said is a convicted felon and has a criminal history of drug charges. On March 15, investigators executed a search warrant for the home.

“During the search, Millsaps along with Jamie Lynn Smyre were located inside the residence marijuana with a street value of $1,920.00, cocaine (crack) with a street value of 640.00, and a loaded 9mm handgun were recovered and seized,” ICSO said.
Millsaps and Smyre were both arrested at the scene and taken to the Iredell County Detention Center, ICSO said.

Millsaps was charged with felony possession with intent to sell or deliver Schedule II (crack), felony possession with intent to sell or deliver marijuana, and felony maintaining a dwelling to sell a controlled substance. His secured bond was set at $75,000.
Smyre was charged with felony possession with Intent to sell or deliver marijuana, felony maintaining a dwelling to sell a controlled substance, and felony possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Her secured bond was set at $20,000.
