Dirty Kitchens, Old Food: What Mooresville Inspections Found
Recent kitchen inspections found a range of infractions, including expired food and metal pans with old food stuck to them.

MOORESVILLE, NC β Health inspections in 14 Mooresville area restaurant kitchens last week turned up numerous violations, including dirty cooking equipment, old food and kitchens in need of cleaning. One restaurant β King Canary β scored a perfect health rating.

All recently inspected restaurants in Mooresville kept their "A" health rating, however multiple violations were found.

A Dec. 7 inspection at Pomodoroβs Italian American Cafe found 14 violations, including deli meats kept past their expiration date, medication stored above a food prep line, food stored in previously used mayonnaise containers and βaccumulated soiled residueβ found in areas of the kitchen.
At Sun Up Cafe, 7 violations were found during a Dec. 7 inspection, includingβnumerous metal & plastic pans & ladles that were stacked as clean but still had food residue & debris adhering to them,β the report said. The inspector also found several expired food items and βsoil and residueβ on numerous areas of the kitchen.
