Dirty Utensils, Equipment Found At This Mooresville Kitchen
Recent inspections found numerous health code violations in Mooresville kitchens. How clean is your favorite restaurant?
MOORESVILLE, NC — Recent kitchen inspections at Mooresville-area restaurants turned up a variety of violations that could impact the health of diners, from scallops kept at potentially hazardous temperatures to dirty kitchen utensils and pans in need of cleaning.

A July 12 inspection at Denny’s Restaurant on West Plaza Drive found 11 health code violations, including grease and soil residue equipment, kitchen employees not wearing hair nets and “many serving utensils and metal food pans were visibly soiled,” the inspection report said.

At Shiki Japanese Restaurant, 11 violations were found, including scallops that were potentially hazardous after kept at too warm temperatures, an employee touching food with bare hands, raw eggs stored above sauces and tofu, and a dishwasher in need of repair because it wasn’t sanitizing dishes properly. Seven violations were found at Marco’s Pizza on Brawley School Road, including food held at improper temperatures, and soiled coolers.
