Firefighters To Hold A Training Burn Saturday On Shearer Road
If you see smoke near Davidson Saturday morning, it's likely a training exercise for local firefighters. Here's what you need to know.

DAVIDSON, NC -- Davidson residents should expect to see columns of smoke in the sky Saturday morning. Davidson Fire Department will be conducting a training burn on a building near Fisher Farm Park, on Shearer Road, according to a town notice.
The fire is scheduled from 8 a.m. through noon at 20046 Shearer Road in Davidson. Fire crews from Davidson and Mt. Mourne Fire Department will be training in the joint exercise.
“This house was donated to the Davidson Fire Department specifically for training purposes,” Davidson’s Deputy Chief Joel Cherry said in a statement. “Reports are calling for low ozone all day, so there should be little health risk to our citizens.”
