When You Can Expect Possible Flash Flooding: Mooresville Forecast
Locally heavy rainfall is expected throughout the region Tuesday, with flash flooding threats looming later in the week, according to NWS.

MOORESVILLE, NC — It’s a week to have the umbrella handy, according to forecasters who say there’s a chance for thunderstorms every day this week, which could lead to localized flash flooding by Thursday.
The warning, made in a May 15 National Weather Service hazardous weather outlook bulletin, said that the first round of weather change will occur Tuesday afternoon. “Scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop across the area this afternoon through tonight. The main threats will be from cloud to ground lightning, gusty winds, and locally heavy rainfall,” NWS said.
While conditions aren’t expected to be hazardous Wednesday, heavy rain once again becomes possibly on Thursday, when numerous showers and thunderstorms are expected, NWS said.
