Human Remains Found Near Mooresville Water Tower: Reports
The remains were discovered near the Bridgewater Road Food Lion shopping center in a wooded area Tuesday afternoon.

MOORESVILLE, NC — An Iredell County Sheriff’s Office investigation is underway in Mooresville following the discovery of human remains in a wooded area near a water tower off Bridgewater Road near Interstate 77 and Williamson Road, according to reports.
The remains were found around 3 p.m. Tuesday afternoon, according to WBTV. Investigators would not divulge any details about how long the remains had been in the area or how the person might have died, the station reported.
Sheriff Darren Campbell told the Mooresville Tribune that it appeared the remains had been at the location “for a lengthy period of time.” Campbell told the newspaper that investigators that only one skull had been found and that bones had been scattered, possibly moved by animals. Investigators are expected to remain on the scene through Wednesday, he said.
