Iredell County Man Charged With Stealing Guns, Tools: ICSO
A larceny suspect faces a laundry list of felony charges after Iredell County deputies found this in his possession.

IREDELL COUNTY — A 20-year-old Iredell County man arrested in Statesville faces a laundry list of felony charges for the theft of two firearms and numerous power tools reported stolen late last year, according to the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office.
According to officials, two guns along with a backpack leaf blower, weed eater, a chain saw and other power tools were reported stolen Nov. 23 from a location on Cool Springs Road in Cleveland.
Investigators identified the suspect as Rodney Allen Grant II, 20, a former employee of the victim.

During this investigation, however, a search warrant was issued for Grant’s home on Musket Lane in Statesville in connection to a separate investigation. Deputies executing that search warrant recovered the stolen backpack leaf blower and weed eater, ICSO said.
Following the recovery, warrants were issued for Grant’s arrest in connection to the November theft, and on Feb. 1, he was located at his home and taken into custody without incident.

Grant was charged with felony breaking and entering a building, felony larceny after breaking and entering, felony breaking and entering a motor vehicle, felony larceny of a firearm, felony possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and misdemeanor larceny.
Grant, who is currently on active supervised probation, also has several pending charges in Iredell and Davie County, according to ICSO. They include: felony possession of stolen goods/property, felony possession of firearm by felon, felony breaking and entering, felony larceny after breaking and entering, misdemeanor larceny, felony larceny of a firearm, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, felony possession of methamphetamine, felony maintaining a dwelling place for controlled substance, misdemeanor possession of marijuana paraphernalia, misdemeanor resisting public officer, misdemeanor possession of marijuana up to ½ ounce, misdemeanor possession of Schedule VI controlled substance, driving while license revoked, fail to wear seatbelt, fail to stop for stop sign/red light, fictitious/altered title/registration card/tag, speeding, and expired/no inspection.
