Iredell County Man Faces Child Pornography Charges: Sheriff

IREDELL COUNTY, NC — A Statesville man was arrested and charged with third degree sexual exploitation of a minor Thursday after law enforcement officials found child pornography on a device in his home, the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office said Monday.

According to ICSO, authorities in Iredell County were contacted by the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office, which was conducting an investigation into a case involving child pornography electronically sent from Iredell County by Ross Allington Edwards.

Edwards, 51, lives in the 400 block of Nixon Road in Statesville.

Detectives from both law enforcement agencies conducted a search warrant on Dec. 19 at Edwards’ home. “The search located additional child pornography located on an electronic device,” ICSO said.
Edwards was interviewed and taken into custody, and charged by ICSO with three counts of felony third degree sexual exploitation of a minor. Alamance authorities charged him with two counts of felony second degree sexual exploitation of a minor.

“Additional charges are likely once all of the electronic devices which were seized are forensically processed,” ICSO said.
