Iredell Man Charged With Statutory Rape Of A Child: Sheriff
An Iredell County man already behind bars has been charged with statutory rape of a child, according the sheriff's office.

IREDELL COUNTY, NC — A 20-year-old Iredell County man has been charged with statutory rape of a child following a report filed with the sheriff’s office, according to Sheriff Darren Campbell.
According to the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office, deputies identified Ollie James Thomas, 20, of Statesville as the suspect in the January incident after interviewing the victim.
Following an investigation, collection of evidence and an interview with Thomas, an arrest warrant was issued for Thomas on the charge of felony statutory rape of a child.

Thomas, who was already in custody at the Iredell County Detention Center on charges including larceny of a firearm and felony fugitive from justice, was served with the warrant on Feb. 14. A secured bond for the new charge was set at $150,000.
