Iredell Man Charged With Stealing Neighbor’s Refrigerator

STATESVILLE, NC — A 58-year-old Statesville man was arrested last week, charged with breaking into a neighbor’s building and stealing multiple household items, including a refrigerator and floor lamps, the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office said Wednesday.

The victim first reported the theft to the sheriff’s office Feb. 22, and said multiple items were stolen from the property located at 118 Taylors Pass Trail in Statesville between November 2018 and February 2019.

The victim identified her neighbor, Robert Wayne Taylor, of 124 Taylors Pass Trail, as a possible suspect.

“During the investigation, the victim told detectives she had made contact with Robert Taylor concerning the missing items,” ICSO said in a statement. “Robert Taylor had some stolen items in his possession, and the victim was able to get several of the items back.”

Detectives obtained warrants and Taylor was arrested March 7, charged with felony breaking and entering into a building and felony larceny. He was also charged with one count of misdemeanor possession of marijuana. His secured bond was set at $30,000.
