Iredell Registered Sex Offender Arrested, Living Near School

IREDELL COUNTY, NC — A registered sex offender who gave authorities an incorrect address for an apartment close to a Statesville school was arrested recently, according to the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office.

Last week, Michael Connor Lamp, 37, updated his address as 604 Foxcroft Terrace in a Statesville apartment complex, which is within 1000 feet of Statesville Montessori School, ICSO said. When a deputy attempted to make contact with Lamp, however, he was unable to locate him at the address.

The deputy determined that Lamp was not living in the 604 apartment building, but instead the 602 building with acquaintances, who had been evicted.

“Based on the documents gathered through the course of the investigation Michael Lamp Jr., was charged with one count of Felony Violation of Sex Offender Residence as well as one count of Felony Failing to Register by providing False Information,” ICSO said in a statement.

He was arrested June 30 and his secured bond was set at $12,000.
