Iredell Schools Dismissing Due To ‘Deteriorating’ Weather

Officials made the call Monday morning to dismiss schools Iredell-Statesville Schools immediately after an updated weather forecast.

MOORESVILLE, NC -- Schools in Iredell County will be dismissing before lunchtime Monday due to potential winter weather, according to school officials.

“Schools will be dismissing early, March 12, 2018, due to deteriorating weather and road conditions,” Iredell-Statesville Schools said on social media. “Elementary Schools will dismiss their students immediately along with all student drivers and car riders. All middle and high school students will follow as soon as buses return.”

Mooresville Graded School District is also dismissing early March 12: middle and high school students at 9:45 a.m. and elementary and intermediate schools at 10:30 a.m.

Monday’s forecast from the National Weather Service shows rain showers transitioning to snow showers around midday Monday, with periods of patchy fog leading into the afternoon. However, little to no accumulation is expected, NWS said.
