Iredell Woman Charged With Assaulting Disabled Children
Brionna Sherrill, 24, was charged with seven counts of assaulting mentally and physically disabled children at a residential group home.

IREDELL COUNTY, NC — Iredell County authorities have charged a 24-year-old Statesville woman with multiple counts of assaulting mentally and physically disabled clients at a residential group home where she worked. The youngest of the victims was 12 years old, according to the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office.
Brionna Janee Sherrill, 24, was arrested May 3 for incidents that allegedly occurred March 23 and March 24 at the Bonnie Lane Group Home, located at 121 Bonnie Lane in Statesville, ICSO said.
According to the sheriff’s office, the allegations that Sherrill assaulted three victims at the group home were reported April 4.

The victims, who are all mentally and physically disabled, were 20 years old, 16 years old and 12 years old. Staff of the group home were cooperative throughout the investigation, ISCO said.
Based on interviews, and evidence, investigators obtained arrest warrants for Sherrill on seven counts of misdemeanor assault on an individual with disabilities.
